In that case, you will hear from many people "this is the application from Adobe, Windows video maker," or Final Cut at best. Such advice is quite normal, and "this application" is Adobe Premiere, which has excellent characteristics, and, as a result, is at the peak of popularity. Adobe Premiere will feel familiar because you've seen other Adobe utilities like Photoshop, Reader, Illustrator, Fireworks, and so on. It's a whole ecosystem that stimulates creative ideas - through images, animations, sounds, effects.

Now - about the video editor itself. You can download a 7-day trial for free, and to access it; you need to sign in with either your Adobe account or Facebook/Google. The procedure is a little annoying, and then the installation takes about 15 minutes. The interface is familiar - dark gray, divided into panels. The sample provided in the project helps to see and understand the editing steps firsthand. There are four main panels: the project itself, source files, preview, and pasteboard.

First, we import media files (rolls) and drag them to the timeline for editing. By moving multiple clips to the same track, you can create a sequence of footage. For both video and audio files, a specific line is formed, working with which we can move the clips, zoom in / out with + and -, or by pressing + or - simultaneously with Ctrl, increase or decrease the image. When the editing panel scale is active, the keyboard's space key is used to play/stop the video sequence.  

 As for editing, the program provides all sorts of options: from cropping, applying special effects, audio mixing to changing colors, graphics, marks, metadata, transitions, libraries, etc. There are plenty of features available to experiment with.  Press Ctrl+M on the active timeline or go to File> Export > Export Media File to export the finished video. An export settings window will open, in which you can select the output video format, save location, bit rate, etc. and click the Export button.
